The new year has always come, and the lunar new year has also passed. In the Year of the Tiger in 2022, what everyone is hoping for will be an end to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Over the past two years, COVID-19 has changed our lives a lot, and its aftermath has left a pretty deep mark.

The new year’s wish of the Korean Society of Exercise Rehabilitation is to open the academic conference normally. We want to hold an academic conference where we can have a conversation face-to-face rather than an online conference. Another wish of the Korean Society of Exercise Rehabilitation in the new year is that the Journal of Exercise Rehabilitation (JER) be listed in SCIE. JER has been in ESCI for too long. I hope JER will publish higher level papers. JER should become a pioneering journal in the field of exercise rehabilitation and expect to play a pivotal role. As described above, what we hope for in the new year at the Society level is to be able to hold a face-to-face academic conference and to see JER grow into a great journal.

In the new year, we all hope that COVID-19 will calm down. We sincerely hope that COVID-19 will disappear, whether it is due to the effect of vaccination or the efficacy of a treatment. Furthermore, we hope that self-employed people whose lives have been fundamentally shaken by COVID-19 can lead normal lives again. In particular, we wish the self-employed, who have suffered a lot of losses from COVID-19, to overcome those losses in the new year. In the new year, we hope that everyone will be freed from the mask and return to our daily lives. So, we look forward to being able to meet people freely, to keep gatherings late into the evening, and to enjoy concerts and sports events.

In the new year, I sincerely hope that all executives of the Korean Society of Exercise Rehabilitation will have a healthy and prosperous year.
