Kim: Manuscript publication process of the Journal of Exercise Rehabilitation
Once a manuscript is submitted to the Journal of Exercise Rehabilitation (JER) submission website (https://submit.e-jer.org/), it is reviewed. Manuscripts that do not meet the standards for format and content are rejected. Approximately 95% of manuscripts submitted to the JER undergo preliminary review within 1 to 2 days and are rejected.
Manuscripts that are not rejected are reviewed for similarity. They are then sent to two reviewers. After a 2-week review period, review comments are sent to the corresponding author, who is then given 2 weeks to revise the manuscript. Responses to the review comments are then submitted for further review.
Manuscripts that are accepted undergo a preliminary editing process and the authors are notified of their acceptance. Manuscripts that require further revisions are sent for re-revision. Manuscripts scheduled for publication are submitted for publication editing on the first of February, April, June, August, October, and December. Once the PDF files for the papers to be published by the printing office (ACADEMYA, Korea) are created, a Table of Contents is created. Once the PDF files are generated by the publisher, they are forwarded to the corresponding author for final proofreading. A final check is then performed on the revised PDF files.
Once the papers are published as PDF files and posted on the website, an eTOC (electronic Table of Contents) is sent from the JATS-XML based Society Journal Publishing Company (M2Pi Publishing Inc., Korea) to JER members. The printing office is then notified of the paper’s delivery address and begins printing. The corresponding domestic authors are then notified of the publication fee.
